Deschuttes River, Maupin Oregon. 2010.

I spent 14 hours on the Deschuttes with an expert fly fisherman to photograph the high desert and famous river. The landscape was remarkable with the Oregon Trail carved into the hillsides. But I became fixated on a tiny thing, his colorful hand ties flies which whipped across the water like tiny firecrackers.
